Ignite no. 1

Patrick Roanhouse

Executive Producer / Host

Some wonder why make a blog or podcast. Cynics will say, "It's just another LiveJournal drama fest." or, "your just gonna quit after the 3rd episode you make". Well my blog isn't a drama fest and my podcast didn't end after episode three. It's going on strong starting it's second season of twenty-four audio and video format hour length episodes, now with over a 1000 subscribers since July 2009. It took a lot of self sacrifice, a possible personal financial meltdown, and a passion when even my friends weren't sure and unsupportive, or even worse saying I couldn't do it. I want to share with you the story of how in one year my single podcast went from being an army of one going to Macworld, New York Comic Con, and E3 to a growing full staff of people all contributing in developing the next big tech/science/gamer geek blog/podcast portal. Showing the deeper message that anyone can be a journalist in the new digital networked world with the right ethics and drive and passion for excellence in reporting the news on topics you care about.
